QR Codes - Are You Ready?

How could you use a QR code?

If your business has a website, you can - you should be using QR codes.

Generate one next to every product in your store containing all the product details.  Your customers can scan the code on their smartphone and be taken to a page on your website with more product information.

Put a QR code on your business card containing your contact details so that it’s easy for someone to add you to their contacts on their cell phone.

Add them to any print advertising, flyers, posters, etc.  They can contain:
        ·Product details
        ·Contact details
        ·Offer details
        ·Event details
        ·Competition details
        ·A coupon
        ·Twitter, Facebook, MySpace IDs
·A link to your YouTube video

You’ve seen them in newspapers, magazines or other publications: two-dimensional bar codes, called quick response codes (QR codes).  What are they?  They have been described as paper-based hyperlinks, and this is a good description.  You simply take a picture of a QR code with your smart phone, and you get redirected to a website using your smartphone’s browser.

QR technology provides cell phone users the ability to scan paper-based content using the cell phone’s camera to decode information on a menu, a magazine, a business card, a gift card, a coupon - anything that you can print on, or even on a website.  Once the QR code has been scanned and decoded, the user's cell phone has access to the information or web destination that you specify.
